About the course

Your puppy isn't trying to be difficult. Biting, jumping, pulling on the lead and seemingly ignoring you are often part of normal puppy development. Understanding why these behaviours happen — and how your puppy learns — makes it much easier to guide them towards better choices. In this practical, easy-to-follow course, I’ll help you understand what your puppy needs and show you how small, consistent changes can create lasting results. You’ll learn how to encourage the behaviour you want, build trust and confidence, and guide your puppy with clarity—without long or complicated training sessions. With just a few minutes of practice each day, you can move from feeling confused and frustrated to enjoying a calmer, more connected relationship with your puppy.

Meet Your Trainer, Leone Ward

Meet Your Trainer, Leone Ward Hi, I'm Leone! I've spent more than 35 years working with dogs and helping people understand them. My experience includes Search and Rescue, Guide Dogs, assistance dogs, puppy training classes and individual behaviour consultations. I've also studied canine behaviour through Massey University and continued learning through courses and conferences around the world. But one of the most important things I've learned is that successful training begins with understanding your dog. I created this course because raising a puppy should be an enjoyable journey, not a constant struggle. When we understand how puppies learn and communicate, we can guide them with greater clarity, patience and confidence. My goal is to help you build a calm, trusting relationship with your puppy — one that will last a lifetime.

Most lessons take just a few minutes, so you can learn at your own pace, practise with your puppy and revisit the guidance whenever you need it. You do not need to create a perfect puppy overnight.
